Jean Zimmermann
Jean began the practice of t'ai chi in 1998 with the internationally regarded teacher Maggie Newman one of six senior students of the renowned T'ai Chi Master Professor Cheng Man Ch'ing in NYC. Maggie certified Jean to teach in 2004 and she has done so in Rochester since 2006. Jean has received additional training through workshops and camps with highly regarded teachers in the Professor's lineage including Benjamin Pang Jeng Lo, Yuan Wei-ming, Ed Young, Lenzie Williams and Ken VanSickle. Jean is a practitioner and teacher of solo form, sensing-hands and t'ai chi sword. In addition to her school Great Lake T'ai Chi, Jean co-teaches an annual t'ai chi retreat in the Finger Lakes and conducts Sword Workshops in Rochester for students from NY, Philadelphia and DC.
When Jean is not teaching she is running her own retail Art and Garden shop in Rochester, Designing Gardens or hanging out at home with her rescue pets.
